Welcome to my website. I’m Ruth Wagner and am fortunate to live with my husband and Maine Coon cat in the beautiful, historic Toronto neighbourhood, Cabbagetown. I’m surrounded not only by the beauty of our community but also by my inspirational garden. I have two main creative passions - pastel painting and gardening.
Much of my work involves flowers and trees. My main themes are the life force within nature and resilience in the face of adversity respectively. I also develop abstracts some of which involve aged objects that reflect the effects of time and the elements. Other themes you will see in my photo gallery are landscape, seascape, and still life.
Now please enjoy having a peek at my collection, featuring works from 2017 onward.
“The aim of art is not to represent the outward appearances of things but their inward significance.”
